Agartala: Chief Minister Professor Dr. Manik Saha on Tuesday reiterated the state government’s commitment to strengthening Tripura’s healthcare system, highlighting various initiatives aimed at making it more advanced and people-friendly.
Addressing a State Level Training Programme and Offer Distribution Programme for General Duty Medical Officers, Medical Officers (Dental), Dental Surgeons and Community Health Officers at Pragya Bhawan, the Chief Minister underlined the need to improve healthcare quality, enhance doctors’ skills, strengthen primary-level medical services, and make healthcare more accessible to the general public.
He also outlined the government’s efforts towards upgrading medical infrastructure, training doctors and health workers, and extending quality healthcare to people in remote areas of the state.
The Chief Minister said skill enhancement among doctors and health workers is essential, alongside improved healthcare services, for building a healthy society, adding that the government is working consistently towards ensuring the health security of the people.
Officials from the Health and Family Welfare Department, National Health Mission, National Oral Health Programme, the Tripura State Branch of the Indian Dental Association, Agartala Government Dental College, and GB Hospital attended the event.
The two-day training programme, held on August 24 and 25, covered several key subjects for doctors and health officials engaged in the state’s healthcare delivery system.
