Bishalgarh: A case of daring theft has come to light at a Kali temple in the Sitalatilla area under Bishalgarh Police Station, triggering concern among local residents.
The theft is believed to have taken place late Monday night. It came to light on Tuesday morning when the temple priest arrived to perform the daily puja and found valuables missing. Local residents and councillors were alerted, following which the matter was reported to Bishalgarh Police Station.
A police team subsequently visited the spot and launched an investigation into the incident. Officials said efforts are underway to identify those responsible and recover the stolen items.
Speaking to the media, several residents alleged that theft-related incidents have been recurring in the Bishalgarh area over recent months, and claimed that suspects handed over to police in earlier cases were let off without strict action. These allegations could not be independently verified.
