AGARTALA: Members of the Bengali Mahila Samaj, the women’s wing of the Amra Bangali party, celebrated Raksha Bandhan by tying rakhis on the wrists of journalists at the Agartala Press Club here on Friday.
Workers of the organisation visited the Press Club as part of the festivities, tying rakhis on journalists and exchanging greetings and good wishes with members of the media fraternity.
The gesture was seen as an effort to extend the spirit of Raksha Bandhan beyond familial bonds, symbolising goodwill and camaraderie between the organisation and the press community.
The programme added to a series of Raksha Bandhan celebrations held across the city on the occasion, with various organisations marking the festival through similar gestures of fraternity extended to police personnel, journalists, and other sections of society.
Members of the Bengali Mahila Samaj expressed hope that such initiatives would continue to foster mutual respect and goodwill between the organisation and the media.
