AGARTALA: A sharp war of words broke out in the Tripura Legislative Assembly on Friday between Leader of the Opposition Jitendra Chaudhury and minister Ratanlal Nath, with tempers flaring during proceedings.
According to reports from the House, Chaudhury allegedly called Nath “shameless” during the exchange, prompting a sharp retort from the minister, who reportedly rebuked the Leader of the Opposition and told him to “stay quiet.”
The verbal spat added to the charged atmosphere in the Assembly, with members on both sides reacting to the exchange as the Speaker sought to restore order in the House.
The incident is the latest in a series of heated confrontations between the ruling and opposition benches during the ongoing session, reflecting the sharp political polarisation marking proceedings this week.
