Agartala: The 80th Independence Day was observed with due dignity at the Agartala Municipal Corporation (AMC) here, as officials and staff gathered to commemorate the historic occasion.
Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder attended the event, along with other civic officials and corporation staff. The ceremony was marked by the hoisting of the national flag, followed by tributes to the freedom fighters who contributed to India’s independence.
Those present reflected on the nation’s eight-decade journey since independence, reaffirming a shared commitment to civic development and public service in the spirit of the nation’s founding ideals.
The observance at the AMC formed part of a wider series of Independence Day programmes held across government offices and civic bodies in Tripura, as the state joined the rest of the country in the celebrations.
