Agartala: The nation’s 80th Independence Day was celebrated with due dignity at the Assam Rifles Ground here, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha.
The ceremony formed the state’s main Independence Day event, drawing officials, dignitaries, and citizens who gathered to commemorate eight decades of India’s freedom. The occasion was marked by the ceremonial hoisting of the national flag, followed by tributes to the nation’s freedom fighters.
Chief Minister Saha presided over the celebrations, reflecting the state government’s commitment to honouring the ideals of the freedom struggle and reaffirming a shared vision for the state’s continued development.
The event at Assam Rifles Ground stood as the central observance in the capital, complementing similar Independence Day programmes held across government offices, party headquarters, and civic institutions throughout Tripura.
