DHARMANAGAR: The CPI(M) North Tripura District Committee on Tuesday submitted a memorandum to the District Magistrate here, raising several public interest issues including alleged irregularities in the Awas Yojana beneficiary list, poor road conditions, and deficiencies at the district hospital.
The party alleged widespread irregularities in the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Gramin) beneficiary list, claiming several genuinely eligible and homeless families were excluded while ineligible names were included. It demanded an impartial probe and re-verification of the list.
The memorandum also sought urgent repair of key roads, including Dharmanagar-Kadamtala, Jur Culvert-Lalchhara, Dharmanagar-Haflong, Kadamtala-Ranibari, and stretches in Panisagar, along with quality control in ongoing construction work.
On healthcare, the party flagged a shortage of specialist doctors, a non-functional ICU, issues with the dialysis unit, a defunct generator, and blood shortage at the district hospital’s blood bank.
CPI(M) leader Abhijit Dey said the demands were raised in public interest, urging the administration to take swift, effective action.
Residents of North Tripura are now awaiting the administration’s response to the memorandum.
