Agartala Remembers Dr. Mukherjee at 125th Birth Anniversary Conclave

AGARTALA: A students’ conference was organised at Agartala Town Hall on Saturday to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee, drawing participation from senior political leaders and a large gathering of students.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha attended the event as chief guest, along with BJP State President Abhishek Debroy and other senior party leaders and dignitaries.

The conference paid tribute to the life and ideology of Dr. Mukherjee, the founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh, remembering his contributions to nation-building and his vision for India’s unity and integrity. Speakers at the event highlighted his role in shaping nationalist political thought and his emphasis on education and youth empowerment.

Addressing the gathering, Chief Minister Saha called upon the students to draw inspiration from Dr. Mukherjee’s ideals of discipline, patriotism, and selfless service to the nation. He urged the youth to actively contribute to the state’s development and uphold the values of unity and cultural pride that Dr. Mukherjee had championed throughout his life.

Abhishek Debroy also spoke on the occasion, emphasising the continuing relevance of Dr. Mukherjee’s thoughts in contemporary times and encouraging students to engage more deeply in nation-building efforts.

The event saw enthusiastic participation from students across various institutions, who took part in the discussions commemorating the milestone anniversary.
