TELIAMURA: Three persons were injured, one of them critically, after a toto (battery-run auto-rickshaw) and a motorbike collided head-on near Haldicherra School in Teliamura on [date].
Police officials confirmed that the accident occurred when the two vehicles crashed into each other on the road near the school. Following the collision, all three injured persons were rescued from the spot and rushed to Teliamura Sub-Divisional Hospital, located close to the accident site, for emergency treatment.
According to police sources, the injured elderly man has been identified as Swapan Chowdhury (75), while the two others, who were riding the motorbike, were identified as Dhani Debbarma and Jyotish Debbarma. All three are currently undergoing treatment at the hospital.
Police have registered a case and launched an investigation into the circumstances leading to the collision. Officials are yet to determine the exact cause of the accident, though preliminary reports point to a lack of visibility or speeding as possible contributing factors.
Authorities have urged commuters to exercise caution while travelling on the stretch, which has reportedly witnessed similar incidents in the past.
