North Tripura:A three-day public welfare camp, organised across eight blocks and various Nagar Panchayats and Municipal Councils of North Tripura district to mark the completion of 12 years of the Central government under Prime Minister Narendra Modi, concluded successfully, with thousands of people benefiting from various government services and schemes.
Aimed at delivering services to people’s doorsteps, the camp saw participation from multiple government departments, offering facilities related to health, social security, agriculture, forests, and rural development under one roof. Free health check-ups, medical consultations, and medicine distribution drew an overwhelming public response.
At Kadamtala Block, several hundred residents collected fruit-bearing, forest, and medicinal plant saplings distributed by the Forest Department, an initiative widely appreciated for promoting environmental conservation. Many beneficiaries also availed themselves of the Ayushman Bharat health card, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Bima Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Jeevan Jyoti Bima Yojana, and other welfare schemes.
Over a hundred applications were submitted for loans under the PM Employment Generation Programme (PMEGP) and PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, reflecting strong interest among aspiring young entrepreneurs.
At the concluding ceremony, dustbins were distributed to 159 Anganwadi workers of Kadamtala Block to promote cleanliness and hygiene, with dignitaries lauding their role in delivering government benefits at the grassroots level.
Kadamtala Panchayat Samiti Chairman Mihir Ranjan Nath told Doordarshan that the camp had enabled direct access to government services while boosting public awareness of welfare schemes. Administrative sources confirmed widespread public satisfaction over the camp’s successful three-day run across the district.
