AGARTALA: The SUCI (Communist) party organised a protest march in the capital city on Friday, raising a 12-point charter of demands centred on price rise, ration supply, and public service delivery.
Party workers and supporters took part in the march, voicing strong objection to the steep rise in prices of daily essential commodities. Among the key demands raised were the regular and uninterrupted supply of ration rice, sugar, and other essential items through the public distribution system.
The party also demanded improvement in the quality of education and healthcare services across the state, along with immediate recruitment against all vacant posts in government departments to address unemployment concerns.
SUCI (C) leaders said the 12-point charter reflected the pressing concerns of the common people, who continue to bear the brunt of inflation and inadequate public services.
The march passed through key areas of the city, drawing attention to the party’s demands, with leaders urging the state government to take prompt corrective measures.
