Pushpabanta Palace to Get Royal Remodeling; Amit Shah to Visit Tripura

AGARTALA: Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha announced on Tuesday that the historic Pushpabanta Palace is set to undergo a major transformation into a state-of-the-art royal heritage site. Speaking to the media, Dr. Saha confirmed that a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) has already been signed with a specialized organization to execute the redevelopment project, which aims to blend modern luxury hospitality with the state’s rich princely legacy.

In another significant update, the Chief Minister revealed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah is scheduled to visit Tripura for a two-day tour on June 4 and 5. During this high-profile visit, the Union Home Minister will inspect key international border areas to review security and infrastructure. Officials added that Shah is also expected to participate in the ‘Bhumi Pujan’ ceremony for the luxury hotel project at the palace.

Built in 1917 by Maharaja Birendra Kishore Manikya, the Pushpabanta Palace formerly served as the Raj Bhavan until 2018. This ambitious remodeling project is viewed by experts as a landmark initiative that will preserve the historic architectural marvel while placing Agartala prominently on India’s luxury heritage tourism map.
