Charilam, Kalitilla: A mother from Charilam Rajiv Colony’s Kalitilla area has accused her son, Jayanta Dao alias Gobinda Das, of subjecting her to prolonged mental and physical torment, allegedly driving her to consider suicide. Dao presents himself publicly as a religious figure and reportedly runs an organisation called Shri Radhamadhab Charitable Society.
According to the mother’s allegations, her son has repeatedly harassed her over money and land, and has forcibly mortgaged her house elsewhere in an attempt to evict her. She further alleged that he has taken control of her savings and property under the pretext of running the charitable society, and claimed he has entered into multiple marriages at different locations in the state.
Distressed by the alleged ongoing harassment, the mother has appealed to the state administration and local leadership for intervention, saying she fears for her safety.
These allegations have not yet been independently verified, and no response from Jayanta Dao has been obtained so far. Efforts are underway to reach the accused for his version of events.
