New Delhi: In a sharp political attack, Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, Rahul Gandhi, made a sensational claim that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will not remain in office a year from now. Addressing a national party event in New Delhi, Gandhi alleged that the governance and institutional control mechanism built by the Prime Minister has completely collapsed internally.
Gandhi further claimed that an “institutional revolt” is brewing within the country’s machinery. He asserted that senior officials from core institutions, including intelligence agencies and the judiciary, are pushing back and actively leaking inside information to him. According to the Congress leader, this internal shift is being driven by mounting public anger over economic distress and recent governance crises. He warned that the government might resort to extreme measures, similar to an Emergency, to suppress this rising pressure.
Reacting sharply to the remarks, the BJP dismissed Gandhi’s statements as desperate propaganda. BJP national spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla accused the Congress leader of attempting to weaken the morale of Indian institutions and create an atmosphere of anarchy. Poonawalla countered that the real emergency exists within the Congress party itself due to internal revolts against dynastic politics.
