MASSIVE TREE COLLAPSE AT BISHRАМGANJ HOSPITAL — DRIVER’S QUICK THINKING SAVES HIS LIFE

Bishrамganj,Tripura:In a terrifying incident that unfolded at Bishramganj Hospital, a massive cotton tree crashed down onto the residential quarters of a 102 ambulance driver, narrowly missing him by a whisker. The incident sent shockwaves through the hospital premises and the surrounding locality.

The victim, identified as Rupan Debnath, a driver attached to the 102 ambulance service stationed at Bishramganj Hospital, was inside his room when the enormous tree suddenly gave way and came crashing down directly onto his quarters. The deafening sound of the falling tree gave Debnath just enough time to react. In a split-second decision, he dived under his bed, a move that ultimately saved his life.

The impact of the falling tree caused significant damage to the room, leaving the structure partially destroyed. Had Debnath not reacted swiftly, the consequences could have been fatal.

Following the incident, authorities were immediately alerted. The Forest Department, Bishalgarh Sub-Divisional Administration, and the Electricity Department were promptly informed and called to the site to assess the damage and undertake necessary clearance operations. Officials arrived at the scene to oversee the removal of the fallen tree and inspect any damage to electrical lines in the vicinity.

Local residents and hospital staff expressed relief that no lives were lost in the incident. However, the episode has raised serious concerns about the safety of aging and overgrown trees in and around hospital premises.

Authorities have been urged to conduct a thorough inspection of large trees on hospital grounds to prevent any such incident in the future.
