AMBASSA: Police have arrested a fugitive husband, identified as Pradip Riang, in connection with an alleged attempt to murder his wife using a sharp weapon. The arrest was carried out jointly by Nepal Tilla police station and Ambassa Women’s police station personnel on Monday night.
According to police sources, the accused had allegedly attacked his wife with a sharp weapon in the Kathalbari area of Ambassa on June 7, following which he had reportedly gone into hiding. Following a manhunt, a joint police team apprehended him on Monday night, sources said.
Details regarding the current medical condition of the victim, the specific charges filed against the accused, and the circumstances leading up to the alleged attack are yet to be officially confirmed by police authorities.
