CHANDRAPUR: Residents of Chandrapur Madhyapara have raised strong allegations of discriminatory development, claiming that roads leading to the councillor’s residence are well-maintained while the road used by ordinary voters in the locality has remained in a state of disrepair for the past five years.
According to locals, the approach road to the area turns into a waterlogged, knee-deep mess after just an hour of rainfall, rendering it virtually unusable for pedestrians and vehicles alike. Residents alleged that while their councillor’s own street receives prompt attention, the broader neighbourhood’s road has been allegedly neglected despite repeated complaints.
Venting their frustration, locals said the road’s condition has deteriorated to such an extent that even cattle struggle to cross it, let alone people. They further alleged that public representatives only fold their hands and seek votes during election season, only to abandon the issue once the polls are over.
Residents have demanded immediate repair of the road, warning that the lack of action over the years reflects a pattern of selective development that bypasses the common voter.
No official response from the councillor’s office has been obtained so far.
