AGARTALA: The Construction Workers’ Federation submitted a deputation to the Labour Commissioner here on Tuesday, raising a set of demands concerning the welfare and rights of construction workers in the state.
According to sources, representatives of the federation met with the Labour Commissioner and presented their memorandum, calling for action on issues affecting the construction labour force. Federation members reportedly urged the administration to look into matters related to workers’ welfare schemes, safety standards, and related concerns.
The Labour Commissioner is said to have assured the delegation that their demands would be reviewed and appropriate action taken.
