AGARTALA: A mega plantation drive was organised on Tuesday to mark the 125th birth anniversary of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, jointly conducted by Ward No. 18 and the 124th Battalion CRPF.
As part of the initiative, 125 saplings were planted in tribute to Dr. Mookerjee’s memory, symbolising a shared commitment to environmental conservation and a greener future for generations to come.
The event was attended by Ward No. 18 Corporator Abhishek Dutta, 124th Battalion CRPF Second-in-Command Sachidananda Mishra, and Commandant Soumen Biswas, along with other CRPF officials. Distinguished citizens, ward-level dignitaries, officials and staff from various departments, and local residents also took part in the drive.
Organisers said the plantation programme reflected the spirit of “seva” associated with Dr. Mookerjee’s legacy, combining civic participation with environmental responsibility as part of the state-wide observance of his birth anniversary.
