Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, on his return from New Delhi, said his recent discussions with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and the BJP central leadership centred on strategy for the upcoming Village Committee elections under the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC).
Speaking to reporters in Agartala, Saha said the talks also touched on the proposed electoral understanding between the BJP and its ally, the Tipra Motha Party, for the Village Council polls. He declined to disclose specifics, saying details would be shared once the arrangement was formally finalised.
“Discussions have taken place on the upcoming Village Council elections and our position in the alliance. Everything has been discussed. You will know the details once it is finalised,” the Chief Minister said.
The Delhi meeting was attended by BJP national president Nitin Nabin and national organisational secretary BL Santosh, among other senior leaders. Tipra Motha chief Pradyot Kishore Debbarma was also in the capital during the period for related talks.
Saha’s remarks came after he returned to Agartala to inaugurate the 54th Tripura State Badminton Championship 2026.
