CM, BJP Leaders Pay Tribute to Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee on 73rd Balidan Diwas

AGARTALA: A tribute and discussion meeting was organised at the BJP Pradesh office here on Tuesday to mark the 73rd martyrdom day (Balidan Diwas) of Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha and BJP Pradesh president Abhishek Debray attended the programme along with several other senior party leaders and workers. Floral tributes were offered to the portrait of Dr. Mookerjee at the outset of the event, followed by a discussion session highlighting his life and contributions.

Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister and other leaders recalled Dr. Mookerjee’s pioneering role in laying the ideological foundation of the party and his unwavering commitment to national integration. They noted that his vision continues to guide the BJP’s policies and programmes even today.

Party leaders also urged karyakartas to imbibe Dr. Mookerjee’s values of selflessness and dedication to nation-building, and to work tirelessly for the welfare of the people in the same spirit.

The programme concluded with leaders reaffirming the party’s commitment to carrying forward Dr. Mookerjee’s ideals and legacy in public life.
