Anti-Drug Awareness Rally Held by Boys’ Bodhjung Higher Secondary School Students

AGARTALA: Students of Boys’ Bodhjung Higher Secondary School organised an awareness rally on Tuesday to sensitise the public and fellow students about the dangers of drug addiction and the importance of staying away from substance abuse.

The rally began from the school premises, with students carrying placards and banners bearing anti-drug messages and slogans urging the youth to shun narcotics and lead a healthy, addiction-free life. Winding through several important roads of the city, the rally drew attention from residents and passers-by, before concluding back at the school.

School authorities and teachers accompanying the rally said the initiative was aimed at instilling awareness among students from an early age, given the rising concern over drug abuse among the youth in the region. They emphasised the need for collective efforts involving schools, families and the community to combat the menace of addiction effectively.

The students appealed to their peers and the wider public to remain vigilant against the lure of drugs and to seek help and guidance from teachers, parents and counsellors if they or anyone they know falls prey to substance abuse.
