AGARTALA: An inaugural programme on solid waste management was held at Rabindra Bhavan here on Monday, in the presence of Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, Agartala Mayor and MLA Deepak Majumder, along with other dignitaries and officials.
The event marked the launch of a fresh initiative aimed at strengthening the city’s solid waste management system, reflecting the state government’s continued focus on improving urban sanitation and civic infrastructure.
Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Minister is understood to have emphasised the importance of scientific waste disposal and citizen participation in keeping Agartala clean, while officials outlined the broader goals of the initiative.
Mayor Deepak Majumder also addressed the gathering, underlining the Agartala Municipal Corporation’s commitment to enhancing waste collection, segregation, and disposal mechanisms across the city.
The programme saw participation from civic officials, sanitation workers, and other stakeholders associated with the city’s waste management efforts.
