BSF and Police Bust Cattle Smuggling Racket in Yubarajnagar, Nearly 20 Animals Rescued

North Tripura:Ina major joint operation, the Border Security Force (BSF) and Dharmanagar Police successfully rescued nearly 20 cattle that were allegedly being stockpiled for smuggling into Bangladesh, in the Ward No. 6 area of the Yubarajnagar Assembly constituency in North Tripura district on Tuesday night.

Acting on credible secret intelligence inputs, jawans of the BSF’s 199 Battalion, in coordination with local police, conducted a swift raid on an agarwood garden in the area, where the cattle had been concealed. Preliminary investigations suggest the animals were gathered at the location as part of a larger plan to traffic them across the international border into Bangladesh through nearby border routes.

The rescued cattle have been officially seized following due legal procedure. Authorities have launched a thorough investigation to identify and apprehend all individuals involved in the smuggling network.

This operation is seen as a significant success for the joint security forces in curbing cross-border illegal trade in the region. Officials have urged local residents to cooperate with authorities and report any suspicious activity near border areas to help prevent such incidents in the future.
