AGARTALA: Former Chief Minister Manik Sarkar, along with senior CPI(M) leaders, today visited the residence of Shubhrajit Chowdhury, who succumbed to injuries at GB Hospital yesterday, two days after a devastating explosion ripped through a flat in the Ramnagar No. 4 area.
The CPI(M) delegation called on Chowdhury’s grieving wife, mother, and other family members to convey their condolences. The leaders also visited the site of the blast to assess the scene firsthand.
Chowdhury had sustained critical injuries in the explosion and was undergoing treatment at GB Hospital before he died on Thursday. The exact cause of the explosion has not yet been officially confirmed, and authorities are reportedly looking into the matter.
The visit by Manik Sarkar and the CPI(M) leadership comes amid mounting concern over the incident, with the party extending solidarity to the bereaved family during this period of loss.
