Blood Donation Camp Organised to Mark Dr. Mookerjee’s 125th Birth Anniversary

AGARTALA: A blood donation camp was organised at the residence of former Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik here on Tuesday, marking the 125th birth anniversary of Bharat Kesari Dr. Shyama Prasad Mookerjee.

The camp was held under the initiative of the North East Foundation as part of the state-wide observance of the anniversary of Dr. Mookerjee, founder of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

According to sources, a large number of blood donors, including local residents and party workers, took part in the camp, with medical teams present to oversee the collection process. The initiative was aimed at honouring Dr. Mookerjee’s legacy through a service-oriented activity, in line with the day’s theme of “seva” (service).

Organisers said the blood collected would be handed over to local hospitals and blood banks to help address shortages and support patients in need of transfusions.

The programme forms part of a series of events being held across Tripura by various organisations and party units to commemorate Dr. Mookerjee’s contributions to the nation.
