Agartala: Electronics shop owners operating for several years in the Post Office Chowmuhani area of Agartala have alleged that they have been verbally instructed to vacate their shops within the next three days.
According to the traders, similar notices had been issued by the Agartala Municipal Corporation in the past. However, they claim that no permanent solution or rehabilitation plan was implemented despite repeated discussions.
The traders alleged that the fresh verbal directive was communicated to them on Monday, triggering uncertainty and anxiety among dozens of small business owners and their families, many of whom depend entirely on these establishments for their livelihood.
The affected shopkeepers further claimed that the eviction order has been issued without offering any alternative site or rehabilitation arrangement. They have appealed to the authorities to consider their livelihood concerns and provide a suitable rehabilitation plan before proceeding with any eviction drive.
No official statement from the concerned authorities was immediately available regarding the allegations made by the traders.
