RAJNAGAR: Police from PR Bari police station seized over 112 kg of dried cannabis and arrested a father and son in a major anti-narcotics operation conducted Sunday at Killing Para in Monaipathar, under Rajnagar police station.
Acting on secret information, a team led by Officer-in-Charge Ratan Robi Das, along with SI Niron Debbarma, SI Bikash Debnath, DCM BLN personnel, and the district mobile forensic unit, raided the residence of Dulal Majumder. A search of the premises led to the recovery of cannabis concealed in four plastic drums buried on the property. Police also seized an Alto car, registration number TR-08-E-0656, allegedly used to transport the contraband.
Dulal Majumder and his son Sagar Majumder were arrested at the scene. A case bearing number 30/2026 has been registered at PR Bari police station under Sections 20(b)(II)(C)/25/29 of the NDPS Act.
OC Ratan Robi Das said the police maintain “zero tolerance” toward narcotics and that others linked to the racket would be identified and apprehended.
Officials described the operation as part of a sustained crackdown on drug trafficking networks operating in the district.
