AGARTALA: Vishwakarma Puja was observed with due religious rites across Tripura on Sunday, as the divine craftsman was worshipped by organisations, institutions, and business establishments in keeping with annual tradition toward the end of the Bhadra month.
Lord Vishwakarma, revered as the god of tools, construction, and craftsmanship, holds particular significance for those engaged in trades involving machinery, vehicles, and technical work. Across the state, two-wheelers, four-wheelers, machines, tools, and workplaces were cleaned and decorated as part of the worship, while several locations also organised small cultural programmes and prasad distribution.
Devotees gathered at puja mandaps and workplaces from the morning, with the main rituals completed through mantra chanting by priests. Working people prayed to Vishwakarma for progress, success, safety, and the smooth functioning of their equipment.
The festival lent a celebratory air to various parts of the state, with working people, vehicle owners, drivers, artisans, and employees of different establishments taking part with enthusiasm, marking one of the state’s widely observed occupational festivals.
