Teliamura: Following a barrage of public complaints, Teliamura MLA and State Chief Whip Kalyani Saha Roy conducted a surprise raid at the Teliamura Sub-divisional Hospital on Saturday, unearthing a shocking state of administrative collapse and institutional anarchy.
During her inspection, the MLA discovered that several key personnel, including OT in-charge Dr. Samir Debbarma and LDC Prashant Sinha, were absent from duty without authorized leave. The hospital is under intense fire over allegations of rampant medicine and vaccine smuggling, the dominance of broker syndicates, and a complete breakdown of internal discipline. Shockingly, the MLA discovered that approximately ₹56 lakh meant for patient welfare under the Rogi Kalyan Samiti had lapsed and been returned unused due to administrative inertia.
When confronted, Sub-divisional Health Officer Raja Jamatia failed to provide satisfactory explanations and reportedly became emotional. Infuriated by the institutional decay, MLA Saha Roy immediately contacted Health Secretary Dr. Debashree Debbarma from the venue and vowed to brief Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha on the matter. “Anarchy is virtually prevailing here,” she told reporters, promising swift disciplinary action and state-level intervention to restore healthcare services.
