Sonam Wangchuk Joins Cockroach Janata Party Protest at Jantar Mantar Demanding Dharmendra Pradhan’s Resignation

New Delhi: The national capital’s political hub, Jantar Mantar, witnessed heavy mobilization on Saturday as renowned climate activist and educationist Sonam Wangchuk joined a massive demonstration organized by the youth-led “Cockroach Janata Party” (CJP). The core demand of the protest was the immediate resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan over structural failures and alleged paper leak irregularities plaguing national competitive exams like NEET-UG.

The rally, spearheaded by CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke, drew hundreds of school students, college aspirants, and worried parents. Tensions escalated slightly when the Delhi Police temporarily detained six individuals to prevent a confrontation between opposing groups.

Addressing the gathering, Wangchuk emphasized that his support transcends the immediate examination rows, pointing instead to four decades of systemic stagnation in rural public education. “Any self-respecting minister should step down when things go so terribly wrong with millions of young lives,” Wangchuk stated, questioning the feasibility of a developed India by 2047 under current ground-level schooling conditions.

Opposition leaders, including Uddhav Thackeray, backed the movement, cautioning the Centre not to underestimate the collective anger of the youth. Organizers warned that Saturday’s massive demonstration was “just a trailer” if accountability is not taken.
