Bishalgarh: In a major breakthrough regarding the sensational Bishalgarh shooting incident, another key accused surrendered before the police, marking a critical turn in the ongoing investigation. The accused has been identified as Biswajit Debnath, alias Bishu, a resident of the Madhupur area.
According to police sources, Biswajit is known to be a fiercely loyal and close associate of Ranbir Debnath, the prime accused in the high-profile shootout. Sensing mounting pressure from continuous police raids across potential hideouts, Biswajit chose to walk into the local police station and capitulate before law enforcement authorities.
Following his formal arrest, the Bishalgarh police produced him before the Bishalgarh Sub-divisional Court on Saturday. The investigative team is reportedly seeking police remand to interrogate him thoroughly regarding the procurement of illegal firearms, the exact sequence of events on the day of the crime, and the whereabouts of other absconding individuals linked to the network. Local authorities stated that Biswajit’s custody is expected to unravel crucial missing links in the case, assuring the public that all perpetrators involved in breaching public peace will face strict legal consequences.
