AGARTALA: Bidhan Shishu Udyan Medha Anweshan organised its annual Teacher and Journalist Felicitation programme on the occasion of Teachers’ Day at Khudiram Bose English Medium School here, continuing a tradition it has upheld for several years.
MLA Sushanta Deb attended the event as chief guest, alongside the organisation’s convenor Manoj Roy and other dignitaries. As part of a cultural programme held during the event, eight distinguished teachers — one representing each of the state’s eight districts — were felicitated for their contribution to education.
Alongside the teachers, four journalists from across Tripura were also honoured by the organisation, in recognition of their work in the field of media and public communication.
Speakers at the event underlined the importance of teachers and journalists in shaping society, noting that both professions play a vital role in nation-building — one by imparting knowledge, and the other by informing the public.
The felicitation programme, organised annually by Bidhan Shishu Udyan Medha Anweshan, has become a recognised platform for honouring individuals who have made notable contributions to education and journalism in the state.
