Belbari: The road connecting Jangaila in Padmalochan Para to Champaknagar under Belbari R.D. Block has remained in a severely dilapidated condition for a long time due to lack of repair, causing acute hardship to residents.
Locals said repair work on the stretch had recently begun, but was found to be of extremely poor quality. When residents protested against the substandard work, the repair process came to a halt altogether — leaving the road in an even worse state and the issue unresolved to this day.
Commuters, vehicle drivers, and school and college students who use the road daily continue to face severe difficulties as a result. Speaking to the media, local residents demanded that authorities take up the road’s repair on an urgent basis.
Anger prevails among residents over the prolonged neglect, with many holding both local public representatives and the administration responsible for allowing the situation to persist despite repeated complaints.
