Minister Animesh Debbarma Leads Colorful World Environment Day Rally at Sukanta Academy

AGARTALA: To mark World Environment Day, a vibrant and colorful awareness rally was organized today in the capital under the joint initiative of the Tripura State Pollution Control Board (TSPCB). The rally commenced from the historic Sukanta Academy premises, drawing a massive turnout of environmental activists, school students, non-governmental organizations, and senior government officials.

The event was graced by the state’s Science, Technology, and Environment Minister, Animesh Debbarma, who officially flagged off the procession. Participants marched through the major thoroughfares of Agartala, holding colorful placards, banners, and shouting slogans to spread the urgent message of ecosystem restoration, plastic reduction, and global warming mitigation.

Addressing the gathering at Sukanta Academy, Minister Animesh Debbarma stressed that environmental protection is not merely a single-day obligation but a continuous civic duty. He urged citizens to actively plant trees, practice efficient waste management, and minimize environmental pollution in their daily routines to safeguard the state’s rich biodiversity. Top officials from the TSPCB also spoke at the event, reiterating their commitment to strictly enforcing pollution control measures across the state while distributing green saplings among the participating students.
