KANCHANPUR: A woman has filed a complaint alleging sexual harassment and indecent behaviour by the Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Kanchanpur Police Station, Srikanta Rudra Pal, inside the police station premises, according to sources.
The complainant, Suma Debnath, a resident of Radhamadhabpur Barhaldi village in North Tripura district, alleged that when she visited the station regarding an unrelated matter, the OC used abusive language and behaved inappropriately towards her, leaving her humiliated and distressed.
She has reportedly submitted written complaints to the State Women’s Commission, the Director General of Police, the Kanchanpur SDPO, and North Tripura Superintendent of Police Abinash Rai, demanding an impartial, high-level investigation. CCTV footage from the police station is expected to be a key piece of evidence in the probe, sources said.
No official response has been received so far from OC Srikanta Rudra Pal or the police administration regarding the allegations.
Investigation into the matter is awaited, and authorities are expected to take appropriate action once the facts are established.
