AGARTALA: The puja of Goddess Manasa Devi was observed with religious fervour on Wednesday, with celebrations held at Agartala Durgabari as well as in households across the city and state.
Devotees thronged temple premises and puja venues through the day to offer prayers to the deity, worshipped widely across Tripura as the goddess of snakes and protector against snake-related ailments, particularly significant during the monsoon season.
Households across the region also organized their own pujas, with families performing rituals at home in keeping with local tradition.
The occasion saw a festive atmosphere, with devotees participating in prayers and customary rituals associated with the worship of Manasa Devi.
