AGARTALA: Partition Horrors Remembrance Day was observed at Krishti Bhavan, Bordowali School, under the initiative of the Sadar Town District administration, with Chief Minister Dr Manik Saha attending as the chief guest.
BJP State President Abhishek Dev Roy was also present at the event, along with several other dignitaries and party functionaries.
The observance, held annually to commemorate the tragic events and immense human suffering caused by the Partition of India in 1947, saw participation from various sections of society, including government officials, party workers and members of the public.
Speaking on the occasion, dignitaries reflected on the sacrifices and hardships endured by millions of people uprooted during Partition, emphasising the importance of remembering this chapter of history to strengthen unity and communal harmony in present times.
The programme served as a solemn reminder of the human cost of Partition, with organisers stressing the need for younger generations to understand this historical episode and its lasting impact on the subcontinent.
The event concluded with tributes paid to those who lost their lives and were displaced during the Partition.
