DHARMANAGAR: A road accident at Anandabazar in Dharmanagar subdivision claimed the life of a pedestrian and left tension running high at Dharmanagar Hospital, where the injured and the deceased were brought for treatment.
The deceased has been identified as Praphulla Nath, who was struck by a speeding scooter while crossing the road at Anandabazar. He succumbed to his injuries, triggering angry scenes at the hospital as the news spread.
The two riders of the scooter, identified as Anupam Sonowal and Pranay Tripura, sustained serious injuries in the collision and were also rushed to the hospital for treatment. Their condition remains a matter of concern.
Following the accident, a heavy crowd gathered at the hospital, leading to a tense atmosphere as emotions ran high over the pedestrian’s death. Police were informed and reached the spot to manage the situation and prevent any untoward incident.
