AGARTALA: The Animal Resource Development Department held its first state-level review meeting for the 2026-27 financial year on Monday at the department’s conference hall in the Gorkhabasti area, chaired by Minister Sudhanshu Das.
Department Secretary Deepa D. Nair, Director Neeraj Kumar Chanchal, and other senior officials were present at the meeting.
Briefing reporters afterwards, the Minister said the session involved a detailed review of how much of the funds allocated to the department in the 2026-27 budget had been utilised so far, alongside an assessment of the progress and achievements of various ongoing projects. Discussions also focused on ensuring that central and state government schemes are completed within their stipulated timelines, with officials issuing necessary directives to that effect.
The Minister noted that such review meetings are held twice every year as a standard practice to accelerate departmental work and ensure timely implementation of projects. He said the exercise allows the government to evaluate the progress of various programmes systematically and take corrective steps wherever needed.
