AGARTALA: A young woman died after falling from the overhead tank of the DWS water treatment plant near the AG Office here, triggering shock and drawing large crowds to the area on Thursday.
Police from the Abhoynagar outpost rushed to the spot soon after being alerted, while fire service personnel were also called in to assist with the rescue operations and bring the situation under control.
According to preliminary information, the woman sustained critical injuries after falling from atop the overhead tank and later succumbed to them. The circumstances that led her to be at the location, and the exact sequence of events, remain unclear at this stage.
