AGARTALA: Police at Agartala West Police Station have recovered a stolen motorbike and a bicycle, and detained three suspects, following an investigation into a motorbike theft complaint.
The case began when Alok Chakraborty filed an FIR after his motorbike went missing. Acting on the complaint, police launched an investigation that led them to the Bitarban area, where a raid was conducted late last night.
During the operation, three suspected thieves were detained and a stolen motorbike, later confirmed to be linked to Chakraborty’s complaint, was recovered along with a bicycle. Police are questioning the detainees to ascertain whether they have links to a wider vehicle theft network operating in the city.
Speaking to the media, West Police Station OC Sanjit Sen said the complaint had been treated with priority since it was filed, and that sustained investigation led to the successful raid and recovery.
The complainant expressed relief at getting his motorbike back. Police said the investigation is being intensified to identify others potentially involved, and to establish whether the recovered vehicles have any connection to other theft cases reported in and around the city.
