IPFT to Hold Rally for Tipraland Demand, Submit Memorandum to Governor

AGARTALA: The Indigenous Peoples Front of Tripura (IPFT) will organise a rally tomorrow reiterating its demand for a separate “Tipraland,” party General Secretary Swapan Debbarma announced.

The rally will begin from in front of Bazong School and proceed to the area adjacent to the Circuit House. As part of the programme, IPFT representatives will submit a memorandum addressed to the Governor of Tripura, reiterating the party’s long-standing demand.

Debbarma said the party would continue to press for its demand through such democratic means, urging cadres and supporters to participate in large numbers.

The IPFT, a constituent of the ruling coalition in Tripura, has consistently raised the Tipraland demand — seeking a separate state or greater autonomy for the state’s indigenous tribal population — as one of its core political agendas.
