Bharatiya Janata Mazdoor Sangh Submits Deputation to Labour Commissioner with Charter of Demands

Agartala: The Bharatiya Janata Mazdoor Sangh (BJMS) on Tuesday submitted a formal deputation to the Labour Commissioner at the Office Lane headquarters in Agartala, raising a multi-point charter of demands aimed at safeguarding the welfare of the working class.

A large delegation of union members and labor leaders gathered at the office to press for immediate government intervention. The union highlighted several long-standing grievances, including the urgent need for structural wage revision, implementation of robust social security schemes for unorganized sector workers, and stricter enforcement of workplace safety standards across the state.

Addressing the media, BJMS representatives emphasized that skyrocketing inflation has left the working-class community vulnerable, making immediate adjustments to minimum wages essential. “Our laborers are the backbone of the economy, yet many are still deprived of basic labor rights, fair wages, and healthcare benefits,” a senior union leader stated.

The Labour Commissioner received the memorandum and listened to the delegation’s grievances. Assuring the union representatives of a thorough review, the Commissioner promised to take necessary steps within the legal framework to address the legitimate demands of the workforce.
