Srinagar: The Communist Party of India (Marxist) on Tuesday submitted a formal deputation to the Srinagar Police Station, demanding the immediate arrest of the school official who allegedly handed over classroom keys to an individual accused of harassing a female student.
The incident, which took place inside a school classroom, has sparked widespread outrage across the locality. Local CPIM leadership and youth wing activists marched to the police station to register their strong protest against the school management’s negligence and complicity.
According to party representatives, providing unauthorized access to the classroom directly enabled the perpetrator to abuse the victim. “The person who handed over the keys is equally responsible for this heinous act. By granting access, they compromised the safety of a young girl inside an educational institution,” a CPIM leader stated.
The delegation submitted a memorandum to the officer-in-charge, urging the police to expand the scope of the ongoing investigation. They demanded that the key provider be booked as an accomplice immediately to ensure justice for the victim. Receiving the deputation, police authorities assured the delegation of swift legal action against all individuals involved in the incident.
