AGARTALA: An awareness programme was organised at Sakhicharan School in Agartala on the occasion of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, aimed at educating the youth on the harmful effects of addiction and fostering a drug-free society.

West Tripura Zilla Parishad Sabhadhipati Biswajit Sheel, Agartala Municipal Corporation Deputy Mayor Monika Das Dutta, and Post Committee Secretary Sukanta Ghosh were among the distinguished guests present at the event, along with several other dignitaries.

Speaking on the occasion, various speakers urged the youth to stay away from drugs and intoxicants and instead channel their energy into education, sports, and other positive activities aimed at nation-building. They emphasised the importance of collective effort from all sections of society in creating a healthy and addiction-free environment for the younger generation.

The programme, held under the aegis of the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Abhiyan, is part of a broader push to engage students directly in conversations around substance abuse and its consequences, with organisers stressing the role of educational institutions in shaping responsible citizenship.
