AGARTALA: Agriculture Minister Ratanlal Nath on [date] took part in a paddy transplantation programme at Gajaria village in Mohanpur, joining local farmers, agriculture department officials, and public representatives in the field as part of an initiative to encourage cultivators across the state.
Stepping into the muddy fields alongside farmers, the Minister participated directly in the transplantation work, stressing that the use of quality seeds and improved cultivation techniques could significantly boost paddy yields and help farmers achieve better harvests.
Speaking about the experience, Nath said the smell of the soil, the mud-caked effort, and the genuine smiles on farmers’ faces made for a deeply moving experience. He described farmers as the real architects of the nation’s food security, adding that standing beside them and honouring their hard work remains a collective duty.
The programme forms part of the Agriculture Department’s continuing efforts to promote modern farming practices and improved seed varieties among cultivators in rural Tripura, with officials expressing hope that such direct engagement would further motivate farmers to adopt better agricultural techniques for higher productivity.
