Belonia: The District Youth Congress organised a six-hour mass sit-in demonstration at Belonia on Friday, pressing a three-point demand centred on transparency in the state’s recruitment process and speedy appointment of eligible candidates.
The demands raised included making PRTC (Public Recruitment Transparency Certificate) mandatory once again across all state recruitment processes, immediate appointment of candidates who have qualified TET-1 and TET-2 examinations, and an immediate halt to alleged misuse of the state’s recruitment policy.
Agitators said numerous eligible youths, despite clearing various competitive examinations, have been waiting for appointment for a prolonged period. They demanded that the state government act swiftly to ensure their recruitment, while also calling for greater transparency and fairness in the overall process.
The District Youth Congress warned that if the demands were not addressed promptly, a larger agitation would be launched in the coming days. The programme saw considerable participation and enthusiasm among party workers and supporters gathered at the venue.
The protest adds to growing pressure on the state government over pending recruitment matters, with youth organisations across Tripura increasingly vocal about delays in filling vacant posts despite candidates having cleared the requisite examinations.
