Agartala : Tripura’s Tanay Das has been invited as India’s only Male International Fitness Judge for the 58th Asian Bodybuilding and Physique Sports Championship 2026, in a moment of pride for the state on the international sporting stage.
The championship, one of Asia’s most significant bodybuilding and physique sports events, will be held in Bangkok, Thailand, from September 22 to 28, 2026. Das’s selection as India’s sole male international fitness judge for the event marks a notable achievement for Tripura in the international sporting arena.
Das shared news of the honour with Tripura Governor Indrasena Reddy Nallu, meeting him at Lokbhavan on September 3 at 4 PM. The Governor congratulated Das and enquired about various aspects of bodybuilding and fitness during the meeting.
Das said he considers the opportunity to judge at the international level both a personal achievement and a matter of pride for Tripura. His selection has generated enthusiasm among sports enthusiasts and those associated with the fitness community in the state.
Alongside representing the country internationally, Das continues to work toward bringing greater recognition to Tripura. His achievement is expected to inspire the state’s younger generation to take up sporting fields such as bodybuilding and fitness in the coming days.
