Tipra Motha Files Nominations for VC Polls in Jampuijala

JAMPUIJALA: Tipra Motha has filed nomination papers for the upcoming Village Committee (VC) elections 2026 in Jampuijala RD Block, which comprises a total of 31 Village Committees, party sources said.

The nomination process was led by MDC Suraj Debbarma and MLA Bishwajit Kalai, who were joined by other senior leaders of the party during the filing.

The move signals Tipra Motha’s intent to consolidate its organisational presence at the grassroots level in Jampuijala, an area considered significant for the party’s rural outreach ahead of the polls. Party workers and supporters reportedly gathered in large numbers to witness the filing of nominations.

Village Committees form the lowest tier of the local self-governance structure in Tripura’s tribal areas and play a key role in grassroots administration and development. With elections approaching, political parties across the state have intensified efforts to strengthen their footholds in rural pockets.
